For class today, we will be looking at these sample constructed responses for the AIR test. Due Friday: Read the NYT article "Germany Fights Population Drop" (You will receive a hard copy in class) and complete these guided reading questions. PRINT your questions and answers for Friday.
*NOTE: If you are in Ms. Karim's math class, you will be completing a math assignment in class tomorrow that corresponds to this article. It would be in your best interest to read the article tonight, even if you don't have time to complete the questions yet. Regardless of whose math class you are in, Ms. Karim will be available tomorrow in Advisory to review the necessary math concepts with you (graphing linear and exponential functions). This is not a requirement, but may be helpful to those of you who need a refresher. Today in class, you will be taking a sample AIR test. OMS & Big Fish Storyboards are due tomorrow (PRINTED). See yesterday's post for directions. The assignment is worth 15 points according to the following rubric:
15 points: Strong thesis statement and illustrations/format that demonstrate strong effort. 10 points: Effective thesis statement and illustrations/format that demonstrate strong effort. 5 points: Ineffective thesis statement or illustrations do not demonstrate sufficient effort. The Old Man and the Sea and Big Fish (or "The Road Not Taken") synthetic thesis storyboard due Wednesday.
