You need to write 2 sample pieces based off of the topics in Ralph Fletcher's A Writer's Notebook. Use the book and the notes posted on our writing page to help you. Samples are due Wednesday. Be sure to edit carefully for spelling and punctuation. You will need to turn in hard copies on Wednesday. Print before class.
Remember that you will have all class tomorrow to work on these pieces as well as your group presentation for Friday.
Study Island Q1 #5 is due Friday. There are 3 topics.
Vocab test for Unit 4 is Thursday.
If you have not yet turned in your permission slips for the Writer's Workshop and our films, get them in ASAP.
Surprise-- No school today! If you feel like being productive, you may want to look at the information I have shared for next week's Writer's Workshop. The explanation for what you'll be writing is posted on our writing page. Feel free to choose 2 topics and get writing (Look at your Paul Fleshman books for descriptions of each topic). Don't worry about coordinating with a group yet; we'll do that tomorrow, but if you've already written 2 pieces then you'll be able to use those regardless of what other group members are doing.
I've also shared a sign-up sheet with you for the 4 sessions you'll be helping with. Again, we'll address this in class tomorrow, but today would be a good day to look at it and think about which ones sound interesting.
Lastly, don't forget Study Island is due Friday.
Enjoy your day off!
