For your four square, REMEMBER:
- A theme is a complete statement, not one word.
- A theme is universal; it should not reference any specific aspect of the book (i.e. a character's name or an event in the story). You will address how the book demonstrates the theme throughout the rest of the paragraph, but not in the topic sentence.
